At the Annual Grand Communication  of Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the State of New
York, on 3rd June, 1949 in Jamestown. New York. Worshipful Master, James Ernald Morley of Royal
Eagle Lodge No. 45 singularly and successfully petitioned for the establishment of a Grand Lodge and
the Jurisdiction of the Bahamas,
In consequence thereof, a delegation from the Grand Lodge of the State of New York, led by Most
Worshipful Grand Master Louis Fair Jr., traveled to New Providence, held elections and installed the
First Cabinet of Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, Jurisdiction of the Bahamas on Monday 27th
February, 1950.
